Hi, I'm Simone

… and I’m passionate about designing experiences that people love!

As a Senior Product Designer with a deep expertise in UI design and Design Systems, I’ve spent my career blending creativity and functionality. I take a user-first approach, but I never lose sight of the business objectives that drive a project.

I’ve known that I wanted to be a designer since I was 14 years old. I used to have these blog websites that would never get published, because I was constantly changing the design instead of writing blog posts. I spent hours and hours in my room, drawing splash images in Paint and learning how to code falling snowflakes in Javascript, so I could pop them into my Microsoft Frontpage file. Good times!

As I grew older and started studying digital design, what really drew me to UX and UI is the impact is can have on human behaviour. Did you know, that the “pull to refresh feed”-feature makes your brain release the same amount of dopamine as it does when you’re playing the slot machine?

I am so fascinated by how we as designers can shape experiences or nudge people to make certain choices – and I love wrapping the entire experience up in pretty UI!

Throughout my entire career, I’ve worked very closely with other designers and especially developers. When I was about to choose my speciality during my studies, I was so torn between design and development, that I had to flip a coin — ultimately, I am very happy with the turnout, but development still holds a special place in my heart. It’s important to me to be able to communicate seamlessly with developers, and to create designs that are technically feasible from the get-go.

When I’m not working, I like to release my creativity in other ways and through varying creative outlets — my current obsession is knitting/crocheting.

I like to think of myself as a cheerful, chatty person who uses humor as their greatest weapon — when disagreeing, when providing feedback, when the mood is feeling low, humor is my default (I sincerely hope I am as funny as I think I am, though).

If I sound like someone you’d like to meet, don’t be afraid to reach out! Coffee is always a safe choice with me, but I can be persuaded with almost any type of beverage, if the company is good — I hope to talk to you soon!
